Management Information Systems

Management Information Systems staff from the Department of Administration, assigned to the DOC, is responsible for the development and maintenance of all electronic hardware and software utilized by the DOC and for the transmission of both voice and data within and beyond DOC. MIS has engineered and supports a department-wide computer network, consisting of personal computers and workstations, several network servers, and substantially expanded both the department's large local area network and wide area network. The Telecommunications Unit, a section of MIS, has the responsibility of providing state-of-the-art telephone and voice mail service to over 6000 users on the John O. Pastore Governement Center. This Unit also has the responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the department's Inmate Telephone system as well as the DOC two-way radio system, pager system, and cellular telephones.
