RIDOC will pilot a facility security practice for the use of clear bags and clear lunch bags for individuals with a green badge entering secure facilities. Any other type of bag will not be permitted. Green badges are held by people like interns, clinicians, teachers, service providers, and volunteers. Green badge personnel will only be allowed to bring in items strictly required to perform the functions they are entering the facilities for. This proactive measure will enhance safety, prevent contraband, and streamline security checks. This is in line with best practices in many prison systems across the country. This practice does not impact visitors or staff members.
