As such, it has a dual mandate of protecting the public and promoting the rehabilitation of offenders. Offenders under the jurisdiction of Community Corrections may have served time at the prison, or may serve their entire sentence in the community. There are nearly 100 employees in Community Corrections, including Probation & Parole Officers, Home Confinement Counselors, Supervisors, and Administrators. In addition, a Crime Victim Advocate is employed to assist individuals who have been victims of crime where the offender is under the custody of the RIDOC.
